Before/After Videos

Just found out that I can publish videos now. Here is the first attempt. These files are large (15Mb and 4Mb) so they might take a few minutes to load.

Just think. A little over a year ago, I was just happy that she was squirming and cooing to me. I found this video of Sydney with me trying to coax her into talking to me. I was pretending she wanted me to turn on the music.

One morning, Sydney went for a stroll. I grabbed the video camera and followed along. She had on her favorite squeaky sandals and was carrying a bucket to water the plants. She waved bye bye to Daddy as she wandered off towards the hedge and then ... classic Sydney. Like me, she is pretty clumpsy. A quick splat and splashed, she wore the water and the plants got none. I couldn't shut off the camera fast enough because I was busy laughing and trying to help her up at the same time. It was one for the book, though.

First pig tail

Sydney's hair is finally long enough for us to put it in pig tails, sort of. We wanted so badly to put her hair up into something other than the shaggy mess that it was usually in so Tracie bought some tiny hair rubberbands and tried it. We thought Sydney looked adorable.

She won't sit still long enough for me to try some other angles. These will have to do. A few days ago, I tried my hands at putting her hair into some pig tails. I figured a dad will have to learn how to do it at some point. Might as well try it while she's not old enough to remember what a disaster it would probably be. Let's just say we had a great time trying.

Sydney totally digged being Daddy's model. She sat on my laps while I tried gathering her hair into little bundles. Once I tied the rubberbands on, her pig tails looked like small bundles of hay. One pig tail pointed up while the other pointed down. The more I played with them, the more they sagged so I had to try again another night. But she got a kick out of it and stuck her tongue out in great delight at Daddy's creation.

Well, I think I will leave it to the pros to take care of Sydney's hair. But before I give up completely, perhaps it is just with rubberbands that I'm not good in being Sydney's hair stylist. I wanted to try another medium. Flowers!! Yes, flowers in her hair is just the ticket. Let's see what we can see.

Uhhhhh....may be not!
