New Bike

Bike Day is every Monday this summer at school. We would hate for her to bring the Barbie tricycle to school while the rest of her classmates are riding bikes. I guess it was time for something more "grown up." So we went bike hunting today. We came home with a new Disney Princess bike, a helmet and knee pads shortly after lunch. I jazzed it up a little with the front basket from her tricycle. Sydney was so excited, she couldn't nap at all. She rode her new ride around the house for hours and finally agreed to a late nap. We took the bike to the playground for another ride after dinner. We made her promise never to ride her bike without at least her helmet on. Only after I had convinced her that she needed to save some energy for riding tomorrow morning at school did she finally agree to go home for some much needed R&R (for all of us).

Before bed, she posed with her new toy for some pictures. I have a feeling she will sleep well with sweet dreams of heavenly bike rides in the coming summer months.
