It's a new year!

2007 is starting off with a bang. Before I knew what hit me, I'm already on the 17th day of the new year. Where had the days gone? Sydney is chugging along just fine. A few updates to report. She weighed in at 17.5 lbs and measured 27.5 inches during her 9-mo check up during the first week of 2007. Her first upper tooth is starting to show...FINALLY; she has had the bottom two teeth since October. I gave her her first black eye last week when I wasn't watching her very closely, and she banged her face against the corner of the coffee table. It's time to childproof everything. I have procrastinated long enough. Her forehead seems to always have a bruise from trying to stand up on the bed to play with the headboard but not having a very good grasp of the headboard for support. But she's tough and doesn't cry much from the pain. She is still sleeping in our bed, smack dab between the wife and I. We tried to put her in the crib a few times but always ended up letting her sleep in the bed the next night because we missed her. Sydney, on the other hand, could care less where she sleeps. She is sleeping through the night just fine but she does have a problem with tossing and turning a lot.

Sydney is eating a lot of solid food now. And she is quite proficient with finger foods. She enjoys....correction, she LOVES....those yeast rolls from a restaurant called Roadhouse Grill. We have been giving her the soft inner portion of the rolls in small morsels. We couldn't put them down fast enough for her to snatch them off the table and shove them into her mouth. She also loves minestrone soup and bread from the Olive Garden restaurant. Slowly but surely, my baby is growing up. Can't wait until she's ready to share a BBQ Chicken sandwich with her old man.

What?!?!? No Asian food??? LOL! It's good though cause she'll be used to being in a restaurant setting. I can't tell you how many friends we have whose kids are monsters in a restaurant.
